Christening

On Sunday 17th, Georgia was christened at St James Church, Orakei. This has been the Spencer family church for many years.

Many thanks to Clive, the vicar, for performing the ceremony and for his wise sermon. Thank you to all the friends and family who shared the day with us, and for the lovely presents. Thank you to John and Susan for the post-match function.

Of course, a special thank you to Murray and Cliodhna who as godparents have bravely agreed to be responsible for Georgia's moral upbringing. We will reconvene when she is 18 and see how well you have done.

As usual, Georgia was happy to play "queen" while a dozen cameras snapped pictures of her in her beautiful christening gown. The gown was made for Andy's great great grandfather, on the Spencer side, and is around 150 years old.



Time for a quick costume change. This gown, which was made from a wedding dress, comes down Dave's family line.

Swimming

In Singapore on the way back, we took her swimming for the first time. She loved it. This is encouraging for the summer, and was a nice end to a terrific trip to NZ.

Here is Georgia in her gumboots, off to inspect the cows. She enjoyed most of the animals on the farm, including the cows but especially the ponies next door. However, she didn't like the sheep; they were too scary. She also liked the ducks and the baby ducks, but unfortunately so did the cats, so ducklings are an endangered species on Estuary View Road.







The one in front (*to be confirmed) is our cow, Entrecôte.

A new cousin

While Paul has been doubling the number of staff at his business, Kathy has been doubling the number of dependents at home.

Congratulations on the arrival of Mary Sophie Eloise Turner. Georgia is looking forward to another little girl to play with.

Beaches and barbeques

Georgia spent an afternoon at Mission Bay with Ben, re-arranging the sand. But dressed like this she was not going to make much progress on her tan.

One by one, she is discovering her muscles. Today it is the tongue. This quickly progressed into spitting, which she thinks is the funniest game ever invented.
